Finlandia University International School of Art & Design Faculty Exhibit 2017

HANCOCK, MI Finlandia Universitys International School of Art and Design will present a faculty exhibit at the Finlandia University Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center (FAHC), Hancock, February 22 to March 21, 2017.
An opening reception for the artists will take place at the gallery Wednesday, February 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Recent works by full-time and adjunct faculty representing a diverse range of media and concepts will be on display. Artists include Tom Adolphs, Jon Brookhouse, Tobias Dawson, Carrie Flaspohler, Sam Flora, Phyllis Fredendall, Kenyon Hansen, Art Hill, Joyce Koskenmaki, Pamela Kotila, and Denise Vandeville. Ceramics, fiber art, graphic design, painting and photography are several of the media that will be represented in this exhibit.
The aesthetics of cartography via Jupiter, the earth from above expressed in felt, mapping the human body as a topographical map, science fiction and fantasy art are a few of the concepts on display, notes Gallery Director Carrie Flaspohler. The variety of interests and media on display this year is exceptional and illustrates the wide ranging talents of our faculty.
2017 International School of Art and Design Faculty Exhibit is on display at the Finlandia University Gallery through March 22nd.
