Friends of Finland Youth Exhibition: Chapter nomination process

Each Finlandia Foundation Chapter can nominate and send up to 3 pieces by youth artists (K-12) from your area to participate in a nationwide art exhibit with a Finnish or Finnish-American theme.

An idea…in December 2025 – April 2026 the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is hosting the first exhibit of a Finnish artist in the museum’s history, Seeing Silence: The Paintings of Helene Schjerfbeck (1862-1946). Might a young artist from your area like to research her work and create an art piece influenced by her?

The artwork should be ready to hang on the wall with push pins or clips. Matting is not required but preferred. The work should be original, follow the theme, and be gallery presentable.  Each artwork should be labeled with the student’s name, name of school and location, title of artwork, grade level, and media. No 3-d work and no laminated work. No glass, plastic or frames.

Timeline:

The chapter should send the artwork to arrive at Finlandia Gallery by November 13, 2025.
